Tinkerbell Tutu

So I've been collecting fabric for a little while now but have not have the chance to make anything out of it because I've been so busy painting (got some new stuff again but that's for another post). So while watching Lord of the Rings: Two Towers with the girls on Friday night I finally got around to cutting up the tulle I had purchased and started to assemble a tutu for A. Turns out I didn't have quite enough to make the two tutus that I was hoping (one for A and one for my niece) so I had to go back to the fabric store (a real hardship! lol!) and pick up another 4m. I opted for green since they didn't have the same purple I had picked up originally, thus the Tinkerbell Tutu was created. "A" loves her's!

The Great Pumpkin

So I stressed for weeks about whether to take A out for Halloween. I definitely felt pulled in both directions. On one hand, growing up, we started trick or treating but then later stopped and did other things with church to celebrate Reformation Day instead. K has no issues with it and thinks it's just a fun time. So in the end, I did take her out to a few houses. We went with friends who were taking their boys and Auntie J.
We got a pumpkin from Grandpa W that K had lots of fun deciding how to make it geeky... we debated putting the Pi symbol on it. And if you get that, you're a geek too!
Instead he went for the storm trooper from Star Wars. Did an awesome job of it too! Though he was disappointed with how few Trick or Treaters were out and how few got to see it....

It was a bit on the chilly side and the wind picked up while we were out so we only went to maybe 10 houses. "A" had lots of smiles for everyone. :) Except the camera it would seem.
Aunty J found the costume at a garage sale this past summer and bought it for A for Halloween.
The Great Pumpkin hanging out with Daddy. Definitely needed the black hat when we were outside. That little bit of orange fabric would have done nothing to keep her head warm!
