So today K, A and myself headed to the city to do a little shopping and banking (which didn't happen because the bankers decided to take the WHOLE weekend off! Gasp!) En route, we made stops in Spruce Grove to pick up what I promise will be the last (okay, 2nd last) order of clothes I bought on consignment. My Princess A has WAY too many clothes as it is (what can I say? Hello, my name is Mommy and I have a problem...) Someday I'll take a picture of the tubs (yes, I said tubs) of clothes I have for her. But I digress...
Oh yes! We also made a stop at Fabricland, which much to my surprise and delight was having a HUGE sale! So my promised 10-minute-stop took more like a half hour, and that was me
running through the store, grabbing wonderfully coloured cottons, manly plaid flannel, a few spools of thread and some elastic.
A few of these beauties will become outfits for A, while others will become part of blue jean diaper bag project.
These two will become flannel pants for my handsome husband who has trouble finding ones that are long enough.
These are the 5 pairs of old jeans I had lying around (or were given. Thanks C!) and want to turn them into fun diaper bags (to sell and pay for more fabric :) )
I took a note out of my mother's book and made K's old tackle box into a sewing kit, so the next time Mom comes, I'll know where my pins are... :) Ironically, at this point I do not own a sewing machine. Christmas?
Next we made a stop at the GoodWill to drop off a bag of clothes and to pick up some cheap picture frames that I plan to turn into hair clip holders.
A little paint, some wire and a pretty patterned backdrop (aka scrapbook paper) and they are going to look awesome! Might even figure out a way to put a hook or two on them to hold the headbands... (All that paint was a Dollarstore purchase back in Barrhead. 2/$1)
Then we headed up to Rod and Dianne's (because I forgot to take the coupons I had printed from Michaels, so we needed to print them again.). Made a nice place for me to nurse A and K to practice his "soccer" & "golf". We also took home MORE apples.
Pretty Ruby Red apples that are super sweet and good for just eating. Of course we didn't stop there...
At Michaels I picked up some wood piece and lots of ribbon that I plan to make into a 2nd kind of hair clippy holder. The ribbons will be attached to the bottom of the painted plaques/frames. If you don't get it, you'll have to wait and see...
Princess A likes to pull on my necklace while she's nursing so I decided that I'd buy some beads that were on sale and make her a "nursing necklace". Basically I'll make a necklace for myself to wear that she can play with while nursing so she doesn't break the one that K gave me :). They were on sale.
AND finally, when we got home we found this little number on our counter (thanks Aunty J!). Which was a wonderful investment because we still have:
AND...
to still peel, core, slice and freeze! I think we have enough apples.
